To start with let us have a look at the ingredients as to what all you need to make it.

Required Things:

•    250 gm phyllo pastry
•    150 gm mixed nuts like cashews, pecans, hazelnuts, all finely chopped
•    50 gm dates finely chopped
•    100 gm butter, clarified
•    ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom

•    25 gm sugar

To make the Syrup for the dish, you need:

•    140gm sugar
•    100 ml water
•    ½ teaspoon orange blossom water

How to Make the Baklava Recipe?

•    First of all pre-heat the oven to 135°C
•    Take a food processor and place the nuts, dates, the spices, sugar and pulse and churn it to fine mixture of coarse consistency.
•    Now in a baking tray, rub on butter on all sides. Place 8 layers of phyllo dough, and brush each of the sheets with more butter. After this, spread half of the mixture of date and nuts over the phyllo.
•    Take the other 4 sheets of phyllo over the mixture, similarly brushing the sheets with butter. With the half of the mixture, spread it and at finally layer the 12 sheets of pastry brushing with butter as before.
•    Take a jagged knife and cut slices of Baklava into desired shapes, if you want make it in heart shape.
•    Leave it to bake for 2 hours till its top portion becomes yellow.
